Homemade Relief and Relaxation

One of the reasons I took the plunge into Essential Oils, was because of their many uses! I have been paying a ridiculous amount of money monthly to help improve my skin. After 2 babies, I didn't even know who's skin I had!!! Anyway, after researching products, I came up with some of my own beauty treatments using the YL EO's and a few other products. I have noticed a HUGE change in my skin in a very short amount of time, and feel that my skin has been thanking me since.

The fun doesn't stop with Beauty products either! You can make cleaning products, air mists, bath salts, lotions, post-workout muscle relief rubs, and so much more. It's truly amazing the power of the oils in those little bottles!
*Disclaimer: I only use high grade oils for my DIY products. Some essential oils will not be suitable for skin application, pet application or for therapeutic use. Young Living Essential oils are the only ones I feel comfortable using on myself and my family.

Ok, now that you want to make a TON of stuff- here's some great DIY products for the Holidays, Birthdays, and pretty much any reason to share your love of oils with others :)

DIY Ideas:

1. You can make you own homemade olive oil infused with herbs, such as basil, rosemary, oregano and thyme for way cheaper than the stores. Yes, you can just add the herbs themselves to a bottle of olive oil and wait a couple of weeks for the oil to get infused, or you can use essential oils.

5. So, as many of you who know me knows: my husband is a butcher and he has been collecting/rendering kidney fat from cows to make soap and lotions. 8.  Coconut Oil Sugar ScrubWhat could be a better ‪gift than a sugar scrub! It's good for everything from skin care to washing hands!

Here's an amazing recipe that you'll be happy you tried:

1 pint jar (You can use the squattier gift jars, but a regular wide-mouth is fine, too)

Ingredients:

1 1/3 cups sugar (I use organic white sugar)

2/3 cup coconut oil melted

20 drops essential oil of choice (lemon-eucalyptus is amazing)

Mix all ingredients in your jar (I don’t even measure, I just eyeball it in my jar and mix away!). You can also mix it in your stand mixer. Add the oil until it smells wonderful to you!

9.  Keep the Outdoor "Annoyances" Away Jar Lantern

This easy recipe is terrific for making beeswax candles for your own backyard patio, or as a great hostess gift for a summer barbecue.

There are plenty of molds you can choose! Antique mason jars, little terra cotta pots, tiny tin pails from the dollar store, empty soap tins, used jelly jars – get creative!
